What our concrete work covers
Concrete is the opposite of asphalt in one important way: when it fails, you can't resurface it — you remove it and pour again. That makes the first pour matter. Our scopes are built around getting the base, forms, steel, and control joints right so the pour lasts.
- Sidewalks and pedestrian pathways
- ADA ramps and detectable warning plates
- Trip-hazard grinding (grind vs. replace calls)
- Curbs, gutters, and concrete aprons
- Equipment pads and dumpster enclosures
- Slabs on grade for small structures
- Structural and non-structural repairs
- Decorative finishes where the project needs them
How we approach concrete flatwork
Every pour starts with the sub-grade. Soft spots get stabilized before formwork; forms are tied to grade and squared; steel is placed to spec; control joints are cut on schedule — not when someone remembers.
On ADA work we measure the panel offset and cross-slope with a 2-foot smart level before quoting. The call between grind and replace comes from those numbers, not from eyeballing. Below ¼-inch offset we usually grind. Above ½-inch, or cross-slope over 2%, we replace.
On sites around active businesses — JW Mitchell High School in Pasco County, Florida Orthopedic Center — we schedule pours so cure times line up with low-traffic windows. Drive-over strength is 7 days; full design strength is 28.

Concrete & Flatwork FAQ
How long until the pour is drive-over?
Seven days to drive-over strength, 28 days to full design strength. We stage so you don't lose a lot or a driveway all at once.
Why control joints?
Concrete cracks — the question is where. Control joints give the cracking a line to follow instead of a random pattern. Cut them on schedule and you get the lifetime the design is sized for.
Do you handle ADA audits?
Yes — we offer a free sidewalk liability walk where we measure every trip hazard, call grind-vs-replace per panel, and cite the applicable ADA/FAC code in a sample report.
Can you pour around open businesses?
Yes. Retail, healthcare, and schools all have phased pour schedules. Most sites can stay open with proper barricading and signage during cure.
Do you handle structural repairs?
Yes — spall repair, section replacement, and tie-in to existing structural pours are standard. We work from the engineer's spec, not an eyeball patch.
